Catalyst’s Fil Lourenco Receives 2015 Google Search Excellence Award

On July 30th, Google announced the winners of their prestigious 2015 Search Excellence Awards – and we are proud to say that our own Fil Lourenco was one of only two Canadian search marketers to receive the honour!

The annual award recognizes 12 of the top search marketing talents across all of Google’s partner agencies in North America, two of whom represent Canada. Nominated by the Google sales teams they work with on a daily basis, the two Canadian winners are picked by a group of senior Googlers in the Google Canada Business Organization. In the words of Google: “The winners exemplify what it means to be search marketing experts and exceptional partners for our shared clients and deserve to be recognized.”

Fil Lourenco was honoured to be recognized for this award, which he received at an official ceremony put on by Google in Chicago. “I’ve been lucky in my career to work with great clients who are excited about search and who push us as an agency to beat our best,” says Fil. “I’ve also been fortunate to work with some of the brightest search marketers in the business. So while I’m excited and honoured to be recognized at this level, I have to thank my team as I know I wouldn’t be accepting this award if it wasn’t for them.”

Chiel Tom Hendricks, Head of Performance Agencies for Canada at Google, had some additional words to say about Fil and the work he does for his clients: “Fil Lourenco is a very experienced, all-round digital performance marketer with a particular talent for SEM. By format, search remains the largest single subcategory of digital advertising in Canada, with around CA $2.45 billion total projected spend in 2015, up from CA $2.15 billion in 2014 (eMarketer’s Latest Ad Spending Estimates and Outlook for 2015).
